2/6/2012 – This week’s list tells a tale of Art, Filth and Love. Valentine’s Day is here and I have a story of misfit romance. Two dark muses separated by the miles in Tragic Goth style. First we have a list from west coast TrashBat ChaseBats, followed by a second hour of tunes from east coast TrashBat Raven. Will this long distance romance be realized? Read their tale of love…
The TRASHBATS: Real Goth Romance for Valentine’s Day!
We are two Goth misfits who found each other online & are dark muses very much drawn to one another. The unfortunate part? Bats lives on the west coast and Raven lives on the east coast. We are both struggling artist/ creative types so to meet in person seems financially impossible! So what does our dark art & romantic angst have to do with Kickstarter or CodeBass Radio???? We came up with a plan! We want to start a small t-shirt design company called TRASHBATS so we can sell them & raise money to actually meet in person and see what happens. Once we launch the shirt line we plan on using ALL profits of shirt sales to meet. This is our dark fairytale… we hope you find our story inspiring enough to support!

About TrashBat ChaseBats: Distort.Dead AKA Chase Bats got his start DJing in the weekly spiderweb infested nightclub known as Batcave SF. Spinning only the darkest and most obscure Deathrock, Post-Punk and Psychobilly. He branched out to other clubs and venues throughout the Bay Area before “spreading his batwings” and heading to AZ where he continued to DJ “Traditional Goth” on a monthly basis, spinning at the infamous “Firehouse”. He is currently residing in Hollywood working on his unique style of poetry, his alternative modeling and always creating and playing music where ever he goes. He just recorded his first DJ mix, soon to be released. ^v^
About TrashBat Raven: TrashBat Raven has served as a DJ both in and outside the clubs. She hosted “The House of Pain” on WXLV 90.3 for several years and also ran a weekly Goth event in Allentown and Reading, PA called “Dark Obsessions”. She is also a full time artist/owner of Dreadful Things by Raven on Etsy. Her art and devotion to the Goth lifestyle has lead to features in magazines, blogs, books, and television. She is soon to be moving to the NYC area and hopes to find a new venue location to resurrect her “Dark Obsessions” event.
