Going back to the 80s..

For almost two years now, every Friday on CodeBass Radio has meant one thing – the 80s! To celebrate everything 1980′s, I (James Allen) present The 80sRewind Show along with my lovely researcher Princess Pickles. Our aim every single week is a simple one – to recreate the magic and texture of this wonderful decade. To do this we move from 1980 to 1989 in order, playing fantastic music taken from the US top 1000 charts (requested by our listeners) – literally taking a journey through the decade. Not just that though, we also feature original 80s movie trailers (and music from their soundtracks), TV themes, TV commercials, facts / trivia along with random appearances by 80s legends Chuck Norris, Mister T and other iconic characters. The 80s certainly had it’s fair share of wacky and highly memorable personalities which we believe should be celebrated!

Princess Pickles presents her own feature mid show – the now famous (or should that be infamous) “Drinks Review” where she looks back at a popular alchoholic drink from the 80s (often sampling it live) and telling you lots of silly facts. To be honest I think this is more of an excuse for her to drink alcohol but it seems to keep her happy.

Starting at 1pm EST every Friday and running for three hours, The 80sRewind Show is like a live 80s party experience – a great way to end the week and kick start the weekend. We have an absolute blast here in the studio and aim to make the show a really interactive and fun three hours of retro magic. It’s always great seeing the comments from our fantastic listeners both on Twitter (#80sRewind) and the chat room connected to our live studio webcam. Yes, if you feel like peeking into the monkey cage you can watch the show live, chatting in real time with a truly bizarre (but awesome) bunch of listeners about all things 80s – and just about anything else!.

To give you a taste of the style and vibe of the show, I have produced a video slideshow featuring the show opening and closing with images from the studio and the 80s. It’s a great way to get a feel for the retro fun enjoyed by ourselves and our loyal listeners every week.
